The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has urged 2026 Batch C Stream I corps members in Rivers State to make good use of their service year and uphold Nigeria’s pride.

The Acting Director of NYSC South South Area Office II, Port Harcourt, Mrs Olayinka Diana Nasamu, gave the advice during an oversight visit to the NYSC permanent orientation camp at Nonwa-Gbam, Tai Local Government Area.

Nasamu told the corps members that the NYSC scheme offers graduates an opportunity for self-discovery and skills development.

She urged them to embrace discipline, resilience, integrity, diligence and hard work.

She advised them to obey camp rules and regulations, urging them to remain grateful to God, their parents and guardians, while appreciating their personal progress.

In addition, Nasamu urged the corps members to take skills acquisition training seriously, build lasting friendships and show love to one another.

She also warned them against night travel, stressing the need to put their safety first.

Meanwhile, the Rivers State NYSC Coordinator, Mr Moses Oleghe, told Nasamu that the corps members had shown patriotism and actively participated in camp activities.

Oleghe said 3,280 corps members, comprising 1,380 males and 1,900 females, were undergoing the orientation exercise.
