Abakaliki, Nigeria – The Member representing Ikwo/Ezza South constituency of Ebonyi in the Federal House of Representatives, Chinedu Ogah, has joined the Ebonyi State Governor’s Support Group, the Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru (FON) Youth Movement, on a voter sensitisation exercise in his (Ogah’s) home council, Ikwo Local Government Area (LGA) of the state.

Ogah, who is the Chairman, House of Representatives committee on Reformatory Institutions, also used the occasion held on Monday, to witness the inauguration of the FON Ward Leaders in Ikwo LGA.

The event, held at the Ikwo Council Headquarters at Onuebonyi Echara, attracted several dignitaries, including the Executive Chairman of Ikwo LGA, Sunday Nwankwo, FON Ward Leaders, commissioners Senior and Special Assistants to the Governor, among others.

Addressing the people, Ogah urged them to.participate actively in the voter registration exercise as it was a sure way of sustaining good governance in the state and country.

“I commend Gov. Nwifuru for his inclusive and youth-oriented governance, entrusting young people with key roles in government.

“This is through strategic appointments and empowerment programs as his leadership is progressive, people-focused, and worthy of emulation.

“All eligible voters should obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) as it is the most vital tool for sustaining the developmental momentum under the current administration in the state and country.”

He noted that the PVC is the people’s power and the most effective way to reciprocate the love and opportunities Gov. Nwifuru has extended to people.

“We must be prepared to re-elect him for a second term to continue his good works.

“I however appeal to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to deploy more voter registration machines to Ikwo LGA due to its size and population.

“One machine is insufficient for effective voter registration. I call for the establishment of additional registration points to ensure a smooth and inclusive electoral process.”

Ogah urged the All Progressives Congress (APC) faithfuls to remain committed and united in mobilising grassroots support for the governor and President Bola Tinubu’s re-election.

“This is a collective responsibility toward securing a brighter future for Ebonyi state and Nigeria at large”.

The Chairman of Ikwo LGA, Sunday Nwankwo, thanked the party’s leaders and other stakeholders for gracing the event and urged the people to come out and register in the exercise.

“Ikwo is 100 percent for the governor and the APC as governance in the state has greatly benefited our people.”

Leaders and stakeholders eulogised the governor for his good works and urged the people to register en masse to reciprocate his good gestures towards them.
