Some members of the Eternal Brothers Club

“Abakaliki, Nigeria – A Business Consultant cum Economist, Dr Stephen Odo, has enjoined members of Eternal Brothers Club to encourage and support one another in various businesses and vocations, to strengthen the bond between them

Odoh gave the advice during a one-day Leadership retreat for Board of Trustees (BOT) Executives and committee heads of Eternal Brothers Club, on the Needs and Benefits of the club.

Odo, who is the Director of the Ebonyi Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency (ESMEDA), noted that the club would grow beyond expectations if it adopts the “Hold Hands Syndrome”.

“In your platforms, identify what every member does for a living and patronise one another.

“When you religiously do this, you will not be persuading people to join you because people will want to be part of what you are doing.

“Most of your members are close to the governor and ministers among others, so share these contacts to meet individual and overall needs.”

Odo, the resource person at the retreat, noted that such maximum financial and otherwise cooperation among members would automatically lure new members to the club.

“We all should ensure that this club grows by settling conflicts internally without resorting to external influences, as there is no problem that the club cannot solve.

“Let us adopt the biblical injunction that when your brother offends you, approach him with your grievances and if you are not satisfied with his response, you can approach others.”

The President of the club, Charles Akpu-enika, welcomed the participants to the retreat, noting that it was one of the club’s proactive ways of building the capacity of its leaders.

“We want to explore all veritable avenues, to accentuate the needs and benefits of Eternal Brothers club, on its esteemed members and the society at large.

“The Eternal Brothers Club has grown in leaps and bounds since its formation in 2021 with a current membership of about 200,. comprising eminent personalities in government, businesses and academia, among others.”

Akpu-enika, the Immediate Past Ebonyi Commissioner for Youth Development and Sports, said the retreat is aimed at fostering unity among members, enhance leadership effectiveness and align with the club’s vision.

“This event which can be described as Apt and Timely, is a lee-way to solidifying the gains made by the club since inception.

“This retreat in achieving strategic alignment of the club with the outside world, offers a focused opportunity to effectively align leadership on the club’s short and long-term goals.

“These goals raised by the club’s vision of achieving excellence at all times, would enhance its viability and obligations towards its members and the society.”

He thanked Gov. Francis Nwifuru for his fatherly disposition towards the Club and minister David Umahi also for his Fatherly love and kind disposition in all the affairs of the club.

The Deputy President of the Club, Dr Kelechi Okezie, also educated the participants on the club’s constitution, especially as it affects the dictates of their various offices.
