PDP Warri South endores Chief Sylvester Oromoni

WARRI, May :21, 2024 – In a significant political development, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) of Warri South-West Local Government Area has officially endorsed Chief Sylvester Oromoni as their candidate for the 2024 LGA Chairmanship elections.

The announcement was made by Chief Favour O. Izoukumor, Chairman of the PDP Warri South-West chapter, at a strategic meeting which was held at the residence of the former Deputy Governor of Delta State, Deacon Kingsley Otuaro, Key stakeholders, including aspirants for the LGA party primaries, attended the meeting to finalize the decision.

In his acceptance speech, Chief Oromoni expressed deep gratitude for the trust reposted on him.

“The just-concluded primaries is a testament to the strength, unity, and democratic spirit of our great party, the PDP.” Oromoni noted.

“It is with great honour and humility that I accept the responsibility as the flag bearer for Warri South-West Local Government,” he stated.

He thanked the party leaders for their unwavering support and commitment to the democratic principles of the Party. He also acknowledged the efforts of his fellow aspirants and commended their dedication to the local government.

“This contest was a demonstration of healthy democracy, where ideas were exchanged for the best path forward.”

“I look forward to working closely with each of you, as your insights are invaluable to our collective progress,” he added.

Looking ahead, Chief Oromoni emphasized the challenges facing Warri South-West, to include, infrastructural development, healthcare, education, and economic empowerment. He assured leaders of his commitment to addressing these issues.

“The journey ahead requires unity, resilience, and a shared commitment for the betterment of Warri South-West.

Let us harness our collective strength to build a brighter future for our LGA,” he sued.

He also expressed his appreciation to the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Francis Orohwedor Oborevwori, for his belief in him, and for the opportunity, to bear the flag of the Party, in the LGA elections.

At the meeting, the former Deputy Governor, Deacon Kingsley B. Otuaro, commended the leaders for their steadfast support and sued for continued collaboration among party members. Endorsements also came from the Delta State House of Assembly Speaker, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Dennis Guwor, and Chief (Hon.) Thomas Eriyetomi, the member representing Warri Federal Constituency, affirmed Chief Oromoni’s capability to fulfill the party’s promises and praised Governor Oborevwori’s administration for its developmental efforts.

Pastor Arex Akemotubo, speaking on behalf of the other aspirants, thanked the party leaders for their diligent selection process and pledged to work hard in oneness, for the party’s success in the forthcoming elections.

The meeting concluded with a call for unity and collective effort to ensure the party’s victory in the upcoming LGA election
