Awka – Mr Nnaghe Itam, Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, has assured residents of tight security under his watch.

Itam encouraged the people of the state to partner the Command for a peaceful and safe Anambra.

The Commissioner made the call during the celebration of his 57th birthday in Awka on Sunday.

According to him, if the residents partner the command with quality information and remain lawful, they will experience the best policing as long as he remains the Commissioner.

He said that Anambra residents will experience a disruptive change in security architecture of the state sooner than they expect.

He also appealed to the residents to work with him for better days ahead, while calling on traditional rulers, town union President-Generals across the state to promote peaceful co-existence.

He, however, advised police officers to discharge their duties professionally, urging them to be committed and diligent in their work, knowing that their service to humanity will not go unnoticed.

“All I ask from every single person in the state is patriotism and prayers for the common good of all.

“We will not lose Hope in Nigeria; the country belongs to us so everyone needs to contribute its quota to the development and growth of the nation.”.

Mr Okechukwu Chijioke, Chairman, Association of Heads of Federal Establishments (AHFE), Anambra State Chapter, urged residents of the state to key into the CP’s appeal for cooperation.

“We should all be good citizens and have confidence in the Police, to move Anambra State more forward.”

Mr Maduaburochukwu Attah, a guest, urged wealthy Anambra people to partner the police for optimal security services, calling on residents to sustain the peaceful environment experienced in the state.
