Police parades man, 20, for allegedly defiling a minor

The Gombe State Police Command has paraded a 20-year-old man, Babangida Isah, for allegedly defiling a five-year-old girl in Tike Quarters, Bajoga, Funakaye Local Government Area of the state.

ASP Mahid Abubakar, the State Police Public Relations Officer, told journalists that the victim’s father, Yahaya Isah, informed the police on how the disgraceful suspect lured his daughter behind an Almajiri school and raped her.

Abubakar said noted that on the receipt of the complaint, the suspect, Isah, was immediately arrested, saying that the suspect voluntarily confessed to the crime.

“Both the suspect and the victim were taken to a hospital for medical examination. The case will soon be taken to court,” the command’s spokesperson said.

Abubakar, however, warned pedophilia who derived pleasure in defiling minors, adding that the command would continue to prosecute criminals.

“The Commissioner of Police, Oqua Etim, commends the effort of the detectives attached to the Bajoga division who were involved in the investigation for their swift action and dedication to duty.

“He assures the public of the command’s readiness to ensure the safety and security of all citizens. They are to report any suspicious activities and cooperate with the police in their efforts to maintain peace and order in the community,” Abubakar said.
