Irked by activities of terrorists across Nigeria, the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) in Lagos State, has advised Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu to put security agents on red alert as Muslim faithful celebrates Eid-el-Kabir and beyond.

The IPAC Chairman in the state, Mr Olusegun Mobolaji, who gave the advice on Saturday while felicitating Muslims, said the state should not lose guard during the celebration.

“We felicitate all our Muslim brothers and sisters on the occasion of Ileya Festival. We pray for a safe and fun-filled celebration.

“We also use this opportunity to advise everyone to be security conscious and concerned as we go about our festive activities.

“We also call on the state government to put all necessary measures in place to avoid stories that touch during this period,” Mobolaji said.

He urged celebrants to carefully avoid domestic incidents and major accidents.

“We all know and understand the situation of the country presently both security and economic wise.

“So please, tread carefully and don’t do more than yourself,” the IPAC boss urged.

The Federal Government has declared Monday and Tuesday public holidays for the celebration of Eid-el-Kabir.

Similarly, Sen. Mukhail Abiru, (APC – Lagos), has implored Muslims and all Nigerians not to relent in prayers for the nation, urging them to live peacefully with one another regardless of their religious persuasions.

The lawmaker representing Lagos East senatorial district, gave the advice in a goodwill message on Saturday in Ikorodu, Lagos, while congratulating Muslims in the senatorial district and across Nigeria on the 2022 Eid-el-Kabir Sallah.

The senator also called on Nigerians to collectively support the government in stemming the tide of insecurity and other challenges facing the nation.

According to him, the protracted challenges facing the nation require the efforts of all people of good conscience.

He encouraged Nigerians not to give up on the country,  adding that greater days were  ahead as the National Leader and Presidential Candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Sen. Bola Tinubu was set to become Nigeria’s President with their support.

Abiru also called on Nigerians of voting age who were yet to register in the ongoing Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) to register and ensure they voted in the forthcoming 2023 general elections.

“I heartily felicitate with my Muslim brothers and sisters and all Nigerians on this year’s Eid-El-Kabir celebrations.

“It has pleased Almighty Allah in his infinite mercy to spare our lives to witness another Sallah.

” I am as disturbed as all other Nigerians of good conscience about the state of affairs in our dear nation, especially the precarious security situation.

“As the Federal and sub-national governments are making frantic efforts in neutralising these agents of doom, we should all support in our respective ways”, Abiru said.
