Radisson Blu Hotel & Convention Centre, Kigali has celebrated its 10th anniversary, marking a decade of driving Rwanda’s tourism, hospitality and business events industry.

The hotel marked the milestone under the theme, “Celebrating a Decade of Excellence, Innovation and Community Impact.”

The event recognised the people, partnerships and achievements that shaped its success since opening in 2016. It also outlined plans for the next decade.

Since opening its doors, the hotel has hosted world leaders, multinational companies, international organisations, major sporting events, cultural festivals and thousands of delegates.

It has grown into one of Rwanda’s best-known hospitality and events landmarks. The property also supports the country’s ambition to remain a leading Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) destination in Africa.

The anniversary programme focused on three key pillars. Legacy Week featured a 10-day celebration of the hotel’s contribution to Rwanda’s development. The Legacy Gala brought together about 350 partners and stakeholders.

The KCC Impact Programme also delivered community and sustainability projects before and after the celebrations.

The hotel planted 100 trees, partnered with SOS Children’s Villages for community outreach and organised a Youth Career Day to inspire future hospitality professionals.

Staff also joined wellness activities, while long-serving employees received recognition for their dedication.

The hotel launched a “10 Years of Impact” documentary. The film highlights the property’s journey and its contribution to tourism, employment, business events and Rwanda’s wider economy.

A dedicated media programme also showcased its role in the country’s growth.

Sandra Kneubühler, Managing Director, Sub-Saharan Africa, Radisson Hotel Group, said the hotel has strengthened Rwanda’s position as one of Africa’s top business tourism destinations over the past decade.

She said the achievement reflects the commitment of staff, the support of partners and Rwanda’s strong vision for its hospitality industry.

She added that the group remains committed to developing local talent, supporting tourism growth and creating lasting value for communities.

However, Nice Uwase, Acting General Manager of Radisson Blu Hotel & Convention Centre, Kigali, said the anniversary celebrates past achievements while keeping attention on the future.

She said the hotel will continue to create opportunities for employees and partners while delivering memorable experiences for guests and delegates from Rwanda and across the world.

The anniversary strengthened the hotel’s position as a national landmark, a centre for international engagement and a key driver of Rwanda’s hospitality and business tourism sectors.
