The Renewed Hope Agenda, South East Office, has distributed food items to youths and women in Ebonyi State as part of activities marking the yuletide season.

Speaking during the distribution exercise on Sunday, the South East Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Agenda, Mr Belusochukwu Enwere, said the gesture was aimed at sharing the joy of the season and supporting vulnerable groups across the state.

Enwere explained that the items, which included bags of rice and other food materials, would be distributed across the 13 Local Government Areas of Ebonyi State.
He described the initiative as a practical demonstration of compassion, solidarity and commitment to improving the welfare of the people, especially during the festive period.

“Christmas is a season of love, sacrifice and sharing. It reminds us of the importance of caring for one another, particularly the vulnerable in our society.

“This distribution embodies the true spirit of Christmas by extending a helping hand and putting smiles on the faces of our people,” he said.

Enwere noted that the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu was anchored on inclusiveness, people-centred governance and the restoration of hope to Nigerians.

According to him, the initiative aligns with the President’s commitment to cushioning the effects of economic challenges facing citizens.

“Ebonyi holds a special place in the South East and in our collective development aspirations. The industrious spirit, resilience and commitment to progress of the Ebonyi people deserve continuous support.

“This distribution is a token of our appreciation and a reassurance that the Renewed Hope Agenda recognises and values the welfare of the people, especially at the grassroots,” he added.

Also speaking, the Ebonyi State Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Agenda, Mr James Alaka, said the distribution reflected President Tinubu’s magnanimity and concern for the wellbeing of Nigerians during the festive season.

Alaka acknowledged the prevailing economic challenges but expressed confidence that the President was making deliberate efforts to ensure positive change.

“We believe it is not good to change the goalpost in the middle of the game. The President has demonstrated capacity in navigating governance in the country.

“We in the South East will continue to support him in his desire to make the zone more prominent in Nigeria,” he said.

One of the beneficiaries, Miss Jane Agbi, expressed gratitude to the coordinators of the Renewed Hope Agenda for the support, noting that the gesture would ease the burden on families during the festive period.
She also pledged the people’s support for President Tinubu in his efforts to deliver good governance.
