Lagos State governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu said he deserves a second term in office to continue his development strides in the state.

Sanwo-Olu said this during an interview on Nigerian Info on Wednesday.

He urged Lagosians to vote based on the track record and experience of individuals and not follow the wave of a political party.

“Judge me by my experience, I was already at the top level before entering into government, I was a top manager in a bank and I understand what It takes to be the governor of a mega city like Lagos,” Sanwo-Olu said.

Sanwo-Olu is seeking a second term in office on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

His reelection bid faces opposition from the governorship candidates of the Labour Party Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour and Olajide Adediran of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

Political observers suggest that the APC’s loss to Labour Party in Lagos State at the presidential election could be an indicator of what might occur at the governorship election.

Amid these, Sanwo-Olu and APC chieftains in Lagos State insist that the governor has performed well in his first term, hence, do not doubt that the electorate will reward him with their votes on Saturday, March 18.

Sanwo-Olu said his administration has improved the lives of Lagosians through infrastructural projects in transportation, education, healthcare, and the economy.

“We are already building concurrently five overhead bridges – starting from Ebute Metta, it is about 85% completed, the other at Yaba, about 95% Completed another one at Mushing to Onipanu, another one at

Ikeja along, and the last at Ayoola Coker at Iju,” Sanwo-Olu said.

Sanwo-Olu disclosed that the government is putting measures in place to prevent fatal occurrences such as the accident involving a Lagos State staff bus and a train in Ikeja.

“We now have the physical barrier which can stop this from happening, we also have the gated barrier, and the third one is the signalisation which through lights we can be notified of an oncoming train.”
