Second Constituency football competition kicks off in Ebonyi

Ishiagu, Nigeria – The Member representing Onicha/Ohaozara and Ivo Federal Constituency of Ebonyi, in the Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Nkemkanma Kama, has kicked off the second edition of his annual football competition for the OHANIVO Unity Cup.

Kicking off the competition at the football pitch of the Federal College of Agriculture, Ishiagu, Ivo Local Government Area (LGA) of Ebonyi, on Monday, Kama said the competition is aimed at uniting his constituents and harnessing football talents.

The lawmaker said the competition was part of his efforts to bridge the gap between the constituency’s leadership and the people, pledging to assist top performers to enhance their footballing careers.

He wished all participating teams an injury-free competition and urged the organisers to ensure a seamless tourney.

“The winners will receive N3.5 million while the second- and third-placed teams will receive N2.5 million and N1.5 million cash prizes respectively.

“All the participating teams not, withstanding, are to receive N500,000 each at the end of the competition.”

The 20 teams participating in the competition are grouped into four.
