Secretary Blinken meets with Israeli Minister of Strategic Affairs…

Lagos, Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken has met with Israeli National Security Advisor, Tzachi Hanegbi and Minister of Strategic Affairs Ron Dermer today.

According to a press release by U.S. Department of State, Spokesperson Matthew Miller, the Secretary reiterated the United States’ ironclad commitment to Israel’s security. 

Blinken discussed ongoing efforts to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza and secure the release of all hostages.

The Secretary emphasized the need to take additional steps to surge humanitarian aid into Gaza and plan for post-conflict governance, security, and reconstruction.

He also underscored the importance of avoiding further escalation in Lebanon and reaching a diplomatic resolution that allows Israeli and Lebanese families to return to their homes.
