The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Community Engagement, South-South, Hon. Gift Johnbull, has opened talks with Guard Time Information to strengthen human rights advocacy, youth empowerment, and community development across the South-South.
Hon. Johnbull met the Chairman of Guard Time Information, Comrade Bibi Oduku, at the State House, Aso Villa, Abuja.
They discussed ways to expand human rights advocacy, human capital development, youth empowerment, and community-based programmes in the South-South.
Both sides focused on projects that will strengthen communities, empower youths and women, promote responsible citizenship, and support lasting peace, security, and development in the region.
Johnbull said Guard Time Information’s recent community activities attracted the attention of her office.
She said the development created an opportunity for a strategic partnership with the organisation.
She said the partnership would engage youths, students, women, and other citizens in productive activities, adding that it would also increase awareness of the policies, programmes, and development efforts of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
Johnbull, however, stressed that strong community engagement remains key to peace, security, social responsibility, and sustainable development.
She said citizens must take part in programmes that improve their communities.
Comrade Oduku confirmed Guard Time Information’s readiness to work with the SSA’s office. He said the partnership would support human rights advocacy, civic education, drug abuse prevention, crime prevention awareness, and community development across the South-South.

Oduku said the initiative would target secondary schools, tertiary institutions, and communities. He said the organisation would work with the National Parent Teacher Association of Nigeria, the National Association of Nigeria Colleges of Education Students (NANCES), the National Association of Polytechnics Students (NAPS), and the National Association of University Students (NAUS) to educate young people on the dangers of drug abuse, crime, and other social vices.
He said the partnership would also promote vocational training, skills acquisition, entrepreneurship, and empowerment programmes for youths and women.
He noted that these efforts would help reduce unemployment, youth restiveness, and crime while encouraging self-reliance.
Oduku said the collaboration would improve citizens’ well-being, promote peaceful coexistence, and encourage people to contribute to community development.
Johnbull reaffirmed President Tinubu’s commitment to inclusive national development. She said every region should benefit from government programmes and infrastructure that improve the quality of life of Nigerians.
He pointed to ongoing infrastructure projects in the Federal Capital Territory as evidence of the administration’s development drive. She also praised the FCT Minister for delivering projects across Abuja.
He highlighted programmes under her office and said more community-focused initiatives are under consideration.
She added that lasting national development requires cooperation among government agencies, civil society groups, community leaders, youths, women, and other stakeholders.
Both parties said the meeting marked another step towards stronger partnerships on human rights protection, human capital development, youth and women empowerment, drug abuse prevention, community security, peaceful coexistence, and sustainable development in the South-South and across Nigeria.
