Sterling Oil Exploration & Energy Production Company (SEEPCO) has launched an ESG Flagship Sustainability Campaign aimed at amplifying industry-wide efforts toward responsible energy production, environmental stewardship, and social transformation.

108scoop.com reports that the launch is in collaboration with the Association of Energy Correspondents of Nigeria (NAEC).

The initiative, unveiled at a special ceremony attended by the Ministers of Petroleum (Oil and Gas), the Minister of Power, industry captains, CEOs, and members of the media, marks a significant milestone in SEEPCO’s commitment to driving measurable impact across its operations and host communities.

Speaking at the event, a representative of Sterling Oil expressed pride in the collaboration, noting that the campaign was designed to give voice to collective sustainability efforts across the sector.

“This campaign is not just another initiative—it is a movement of purpose. Together with NAEC, we aim to unite our sustainability initiatives, channel every effort into real-life transformational activities, and create smiles that sustain.”

SEEPCO reaffirmed its belief that sustainability extends beyond compliance, describing it as a responsibility, a shared value system, and a way of life.

The company emphasized that its philosophy, “Bringing Smiles with Each Barrel,” underscores its focus on positive impact—on people, communities, and the environment.

The company’s sustainability agenda also spans sports, culture, art, health, gender equality, and environmental protection, which it considers vital tools for nation-building, youth empowerment, and nurturing Nigerian talent.

“At Sterling Oil, we measure success not merely by business growth but by the positive impact we create. Our journey is cemented on more than two decades of resilience and innovation across challenging terrains, and today we stand proud as one of Africa’s fastest-growing oil exploration and production companies,” it added.

SEEPCO restated its vision to continuously grow as a social enterprise that runs sustainable businesses which are socially relevant, economically viable, and environmentally responsible—while contributing to national development, respecting host communities, and creating value for all stakeholders.

The Global Sustainability Campaign, themed “SEEPCO SMILE”, is designed to inspire millions of lasting smiles across borders and generations. The campaign embodies SEEPCO’s belief that the true success of the energy industry lies not just in barrels produced but in lives improved.

“We dedicate this campaign to our beloved nation, Nigeria, as it celebrates 65 years of remarkable resilience, resolve, and relentless rise,” it said.
