Following the rejection of the old Naira notes, Gov. Yahaya Bello of the Kogi State has threatened to shut down commercial banks that refused to receive such notes in the state.
Following the cash crunch crisis in Nigeria, the Supreme Court on Friday ordered the Federal Government to allow the old Naira notes to continue as legal tender until Dec. 31, 2023.
The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) says only N200 old notes are to be reissued and circulated concurrently with the new notes in line with the directives of President Muhammadu Buhari.
