Senator Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Candidate on Sunday returned to Lagos and was received by cheering crowd of APC loyalists and chieftains.
He is returning to the commercial city of Nigeria, Lagos, for the first time after clinching the APC ticket.
Tinubu arrived the Presidential Wing of Murtala Muhammed Airport, Ikeja, at 3.40 p.m.
Recalls that Tinubu defeated 13 other aspirants, including Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, to clinch the APC ticket for the 2023 presidential election.
The uncontrollable cheering crowd was massive to receive one of the national leaders of the ruling party back to the state, after winning the party’s presidential primary, held in Abuja between June 6 and June 8.
Subsequently, after waving at the crowd with a broom – a symbol of APC, Tinubu boarded a waiting bus and departed the airport.
Many party faithful stood on the main roads from airport waving and singing praises of the APC’s presidential flag bearer.
Tinubu’s long convoy from the airport went through Oshodi, Anthony, Oworoshoki, Gbagada among other parts in Lagos.
The feelers from some leaders in the train revealed that Tinubu was on his way to the palace of Oba Rilwan Akiolu, the Oba of Lagos.
The former governor of Lagos, on his arrival was accompanied by Gov. Abdulahi Ganduje of Kano, former Governor of Borno, Kashim Shetima, and former Governor of Edo, Adams Oshiomole, Sen. Tokunbo Abiru (APC Lagos East), Rep. James Faleke (Ikeja Federal Constituency) amongst others.
Similarly, some of the personalities that received the former governor at the airport were Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos, Gov. Hope Uzodinma of Imo, Lagos Deputy Governor, Dr Obafemi Hamzat.

Tinubu, one of the national leaders of the ruling party, polled 1,271 votes to defeat his closest rival, former Minister of Transportation, Mr Rotimi Amaechi who got 316 votes at the party’ s Special National Convention held from June 6 to 8 in Abuja.
