The Chairman of Nigeria Diaspora Voting Council (NDVC) and former Director of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, Diaspora Directorate, Prince Ade Omole, has hailed the appointment of Honourable Minister Yusuf Maitama Tuggar (OON), as the perfect choice and one based on competent credentials.

Tuggar is a Nigerian senior diplomat and politician recently appointed and sworn in as Minister of Foreign Affairs by H.E. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR.

He had previously served as the Nigerian Ambassador to Germany from 2017 to 2023, during which he proved his mettle.

We recall that Tuggar and Prince Omole worked together on the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Convention Accreditation of Diaspora, Diplomats and Essential Personnel Sub-Committee in March 2022.

“Omole served as the Assistant Secretary of the sub-committee while Amb Tuggar was a member.

“Tuggar has spent almost his entire career in the diplomatic service; he understands the international dynamics and is well-grounded in the politics of diplomacy.

“He is a reserved person who gets the job done diligently and quietly.

“He has lots of vitality, and his work adds to his energy rather than distract him. He has a purpose and clarity in thinking as he leads his team towards a desired goal that matters. He is self-aware and plays on his strengths most of the time.

“Mr President told Nigerians during the electioneering phase that he will appoint only those with requisite expertise, experience and integrity. I was excited when I heard that HM Tuggar had been nominated. This is one of the most appropriate appointments made by Mr. President.

“Tuggar must now, as a matter of urgency albeit carefully planned, address amongst other challenges, the issues of perception of the country abroad and ensure the Foreign Ministry is at the forefront of promoting Nigeria’s interest and protecting Nigerian citizens abroad. On behalf of the Nigeria Diaspora community, I pledge our unalloyed commitment to ensuring he succeeds. Omole concluded.”
