U-20 WWC: Some Day 3 group matches concluded

Bogota, Colombia – With the final Group matches concluded on Friday in Groups A and B, hosts Colombia, in Group A, and Brazil, in Group B, are the official winners of those groups.

In Day 3 matches played in Group A, Colombia defeated Mexico 1-0 while Cameroon beat Australia 2-0.

This gave the hosts the maximum 9 points, ahead of fellow qualifiers, Mexico, which advanced with four points.

Cameroon also ended their group campaign with four points but are in third place. They will have to wait for all group to end to see if they will go through as one of the four best third-place finishers

Australia were eliminated as they have no points to their credit.

In Group B, Brazil defeated Canada 2-0 while France hammered Fiji 11-0.

With these results, Brazil emerged winner of the Group with the maximum 9 points from three wins, ahead of France with four points Canada are also on four points but in third place and could qualify as one of the best third-place finishers.

Day 3 matches will be played on Saturday in Groups C and D to determine the official winners of those groups.
