Umuahia East lawmaker elect promises to tackle infrastructure in Abia

Hon. Augustine Okezie Meregini, the Labour Party (LP) House of Assembly elect for the Umuahia East State Constituency has identified the dearth of infrastructure as a major problem confronting the “God’s own state”.

He stated this while speaking with newsmen immediately after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced him as the winner of the just concluded House of Assembly election held on March 18, 2023.

Popularly called Ugolee, the victor, promised that he would ensure the issue of a lack of infrastructure is tackled with all the seriousness it deserves.

If proper infrastructure is put in place Abia state, particularly in Umuahia the state will be second to none,'' the Lawmaker elect said. 

108scoop.com reports that a few hours after he was declared the winner, he was received by a large crowd of supporters in his villege in Umuana.

Some of those who spoke to our reporter said: ``We thank God Almighty
for making the victory of Labour Party possible.”
