The Eastland Electricity Distribution Limited (EEDL) has disclosed that the current drop in electricity supply across its franchise areas including Ebonyj, is due to decline in national electricity generation.
The EEDL Head of Communications, Patience Ezeagu made the disclosure in a statement made available to the newsmen, noting that the decline has resulted into constraints on the national grid.
Ezeagu in the statement, said the situation affected the entire country and was not peculiar to Ebonyi.
“The low system frequency has necessitated load shedding by the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) to maintain grid stability and prevent possible system collapse.
“The EEDL understands the inconvenience this situation has caused our customers and sincerely regret the disruption to their daily activities and businesses.
“We reiterate our commitment to distributing the available electricity efficiently as possible while the relevant authorities work towards improving supply.”
The Head of Communications appealed for patience and understanding from customers, assuring that the EEDL was determined to give them the best service always.
“We look forward to improved electricity supply when generation capacity increases and the national grid stabilises.”
