The president of the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, Ibrahim Gusau has announced his resignation.
Gusau confirmed this during a press conference on Thursday afternoon in Abuja.
He has stepped down alongside other board members with immediate effect.
This development comes amid intense scrutiny over the NFF’s handling of football in the country.
It has been triggered by the Super Falcons’ failure to qualify for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
Nigeria had always qualified for the tournament throughout its history.
The Super Eagles also failed to qualify for back-to-back World Cups, missing out on the 2026 edition.
