Why Police place N50m bounty on 2 bandit kingpins

The Katsina State Police Command, has placed a N50 million bounty for information that could lead to the arrest of the two bandit kingpins terrorising the state.

The suspects were identified as Modi Modi and Jan Kare.

This was contained in a statement by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Abubakar Aliyu.

He said the suspects are allegedly responsible for attacks in Kankara and Safana Local Government Areas of the state.

The police spokesperson said the identity of those who will provide the command with credible information about the suspects and the information provided will be kept confidential to ensure their safety and protection.

He explained that police and other sister security agencies in the state were committed to taking decisive action against criminal elements that are threatening the peace and stability of the residents of the state.

“The Katsina State Police Command wishes to announce a substantial reward of N50,000,000:00 to any individual who provides valuable information that will lead to the arrest of two bandits’ kingpins popularly known as Modi Modi, m, and Jan Kare, m, operating within Katsina State, particularly in the regions of Kankara and Safana Local Government Areas.

“This reward serves as a testament to our dedication to ensuring justice prevails, as the issue of security is a collective responsibility. This initiative aims to enhance security operations in our dear State and combat the activities of these criminal elements.”

Aliyu, however, urged residents of the state to provide relevant information that could assist the security agencies in arresting the masterminds behind the “heinous crimes of Kidnapping and banditry.”
