YOUR VOTE IS ATIKU O’CLOCK.
-Babajide Macauley,
The Narrative Force.
Yes, your vote is Atiku o’clock. Be it at the ADC Presidential Primary or even the General elections, Atiku Abubakar is the man to vote. And, rightly so.
Setting a time for a task is usually setting an appointment with purpose and, by inference, with destiny. And, Atiku, in this sense, is Nigeria’s appointment with good governance which, in turn, represents a change of tide from woeful cries of bad and irresponsible governance as presently experienced with the Bola Tinubu-led APC government to a situation of bliss, better than experienced even during the 8-year tenure of Olusegun Obasanjo when Atiku Abubakar held sway as the Vice President and the Chairman of the Economic Team.
Atiku represents a thriving economy. Under his watch, Nigeria boasted of a very robust economy. The GDP per capita rose, employment soared even as industries thrived. The accumulated debt burden of Nigeria that had accumulated over the years prior to 1999 was partly defrayed with the rest forgiven. External investors’ confidence was reignited and within years, the economic terrain buoyed.
Sadly, the reverse is the case, presently. Investors have started packing their economic bags, divesting and hurriedly scrambling away from Nigeria, out to economic and physical safety. The falling Naira, devalued is not a good investment index. Neither is the insecurity pervading the Nigerian geographical territory. Even embassies are affected.
Atiku Abubakar promises and is capable of putting a stop to the insecurity pandemic. With the bridges he has built across regions, the willpower to grab the bull of insecurity by the horn and the ability to put round pegs in round holes, as against the heavily jaundiced appointment structure presently being witnessed, Atiku Abubakar, in no time, will ensure a safer Nigeria, where going to work, to school, to the farm, and even to the market becomes safe again.
This aspiration transcends regional sentiments or even ambition. Rather, it is a sincere and earnest desire to make a positive change. It is borne of a conviction in the ability to do it right where others have failed. And, it deserves the required support.
For Atiku, the dignity of the Nigerian people must be restored through the restoration of the dignity of labour. A Nigerian worker is entitled to the ability to feed his family and provide for his needs. That is what makes a man. We must stop the trending handouts of rice, stipends and even ridiculous empowerment materials. Rather, as with thriving nations of the world, Nigerian masses deserve a good life.
“Give a man fish and you feed him for a day, teach a man how to fish and you feed him forever “.
The man, Atiku Abubakar does not only believe in education, having benefitted immensely from same, he has invested in it even in his private capacity and has, over the years, given educational scholarships to indigent and deserving students. Nigeria’s education will definitely experience a boost under him.
For the teeming ADC members across the nation, remember, it is Atiku o’clock. Support him to emerge as the Party’s Consensus Presidential candidate. And, if we resort to the direct primary, your support is appropriately channeled when it is given to Atiku Abubakar. Only then can the job of salvaging Nigeria be truly achieved.
And, come January 2027, when we go to the general elections, it is still Atiku Abubakar.
The man with a track record of performance.
