2 in Police net for defiling female teenager, minor

Two persons, including a security guard have been arrested for allegedly defiling two girls in separate communities in Anambra state.

The suspects, Emmanuel Sampson and ThankGod Damian were said to have forcefully had carnal knowledge of the duo after luring them into uncompleted building.

Confirming the arrests, Police spokesperson, Tochukwu Ikenga said the suspects would be charged to court following their culpability by medical evidence.

He said, “Anambra State Police Operatives have arrested two (2) suspects in two (2) separate cases of defilement reported and transferred to the Gender unit at the State Criminal Investigation Department for discreet investigation.

“The Operatives have also secured medical evidence to prove the suspects’ culpability and will charge the case to Court on Wednesday, August 20th, 2025.

“A case of defilement transferred from CPS Onitsha on August 8, 2025 which stated how one Emmanuel Sampson living in Odoakpu, Onitsha lured an 8-year-old daughter of his neighbour under the pretence of giving her food and thereafter had unlawful carnal knowledge of her.

“Similarly, on August 14, 2025, a case of defilement was transferred from the 3-3 Division which stated how a 13-year-old girl was defiled by a security man in an Estate.

“Preliminary investigation reveals that the suspect, one ThankGod Damian, a security man in the Estate, lured the victim into an uncompleted building where he forcefully had unlawful carnal knowledge of her.

“The Anambra State Police Command remains committed to ensuring justice for victims of sexual and gender-based violence.

“However, parents and guardians are further advised to remain vigilant and to promptly report all suspected cases to the nearest Police formation for immediate action.”
