The All Progressive Congress (APC) members of Badagry Local Government Area (LGA) have vowed to deliver a landmark victory for all its candidates contesting for positions in the forthcoming 2027 elections.
The APC leaders of the federation made this promise on Thursday during the inauguration of Badagry Federation Campaign Structure which held at Sunny Ajose Estate, Badagry, Lagos State.
The APC Vice Director General, West 2, Campaign Council, Mr Fatai Ayoola said that Badagry Federation was among the best performing local government among all the LGA’s in Lagos State at the 2023 elections.
Fatai said that their performance at the last elections was the reason why one of their daughters, Mrs Damilola James, emerged as the Deputy Governorship candidate in the coming elections.
“Therefore I charge you all to come out en mass, both old and young on the day of the elections and multiply our last election result by three.
“Let us maintain our position as the best performing LGA in Lagos State again, and who knows, maybe the next gubernatorial candidate, may emerge from our federation,” the campaign director said.
He said that about 300,000 people from Badagry registered for the election process and expected nothing short of a landmark victory from the federation.
The Commissioner for Youth and Social Development, Lagos State, Mr Mobolaji Ogunlende said that a good campaign structure would ensure that all the nooks and crannies of Badagry is covered.
Ogunlende said that this grassroot approach would ensure victory for all APC candidates, starting from the presidency to the governorship, senatorial, house of representatives and house of assembly elections.
“Our campaign structure will ensure that we are on the same page, hitting the ground running to ensure that all our elected officers, win their elections in 2027.
“We are supporting them to come into office to do what they are supposed to do for our people. This is the message that is crystal clear and sending across board.
“Therefore, we should all come out en masse to give them the support now,” he said.
The commissioner said that the simple task ahead was for Badagry to come out with one voice and vote-in continuity of government, to continue to enjoy the dividends of democracy.
“That is the simple message and we must do this collectively because no single individual can do it alone,” he said.
The Chairman, Badagry LG, Mr Babatunde Hunpe said that the federation was ready for the elections and promised to deliver more than expectation.
Hunpe said that the whole federation was motivated to clear the result in a landmark victory because of Damilola James given the opportunity to run as the deputy governorship candidate.
“So, we are going to show our appreciation by coming out en mass to use our votes to ensure that all candidates contesting under APC wins their selected position,” he said.
The chairman, however said that once victory is achieved, he expected infrastructural development, human development, economical development among others, to continue, to support and improve the lives of people in Badagry.
The Chairman, Olorunda Local Council Development Area (LCDA) Badagry, Mr Ajose Kumayon appreciated the state government and federal government for giving one of their own daughters the opportunity to become deputy governor.
“Therefore, we are going to pay them back at home by ensuring that all vote is casted towards the direction of APC candidates on election day.
“We know that once victory is achieved, our expectations in terms of infrastructural and human capacity development will be achieved.
“This will continue to develop Badagry in a manner that will shore up economic activities in our area and improve the standard of living of the people,” Kumayon said.
Also, the Chairman, Badagry West LCDA, Mr Rauf Yemaren said that victory was already ascertained because Badagry federation were united and spoke with one voice and moved in one direction.
“We are united and that is why I say that victory has already been achieved because we are going to come out in large numbers on election day to vote in our party candidates.
“We are going to have a well coordinated and peaceful election in Badagry because we understand one another as a people and are known as a peaceful community.
“We just want continuity in government, infrastructural development, human capacity building, economic development and development in all areas for the benefit of our constituents and constituency,” Yemaren said.
