The Founder, One Love Family, Satguru Maharaj ji, has called for adequate funding of judiciary in Nigeria to avoid luring them into corruption.
Maharaj ji gave the advice in an interview in Ibadan.
He said that judiciary in Nigeria was in tattered because judges and magistrates were being paid meagre salaries.
Maharaj ji said that salary of National Assembly members was thrice higher than that of the judiciary which he said should not be so.
According to him, the meagre salary being paid the judiciary is a trap for them to dance to the dictate of the executive.
He said: “It takes men and women of courage and honest who want to make history to apply to be judge or magistrate in Nigeria.
“Judiciary is not well funded today in Nigeria and this is not encouraging.
“Judiciary is in tattered because a judge is being paid meagre salary, imagine a Chief Judge taken his car for repair frequently.
“Magistrates and judges should be given a new car every three or two years and paid good salary, doing this will give hope for the common man.
“If this is not happening, it means they have set trap for the judiciary and you can take this as being force to dance to the tune of the legislature, so the executive will be left with no option than to hold on to many things.
“The Executive, Legislature and Judiciary must work together to address the messy situation in the country,” he said.
On war against banditry and insurgency, he commended the Nigeria Military on the recent arrest of the suspects linked with the attack of the Catholic Church, Owo in Ondo State.
Maharaj ji said that President Muhammadu Buhari and the security agencies in the country had always been taken the fight against insurgency very serious.
According to him, they have been doing well at tackling insecurity in Nigeria, but needed to carry the people along.
“How can you say Hausa attack and blow up the prison in Oyo and free the convicts? This idea of tribal thing should be put away; the government is trying, but what am saying is that they have to carry the people along.
“I give kudos to the Chief of Army Staff, Chief of Defence Staff and the military for what they have done; security should not be for the Army, Police and other security personnel alone,” he said.
Maharaj ji, however, called for the establishment of state police to effectively tackle corruption and other insecurity in the land.
