High Chief Okey Amadi, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate for the Owerri Federal Constituency seat in Nigeria’s House of Representatives, expressed strong confidence on Wednesday that he will secure victory in the 2027 general elections.
Amadi, a U.S.-based industrialist and businessman, made the remarks while addressing supporters and local leaders at the Emekuku Town Hall in Owerri North Local Government Area following his return from the United States.
”Do not fear as we are coming out strong and will definitely win the election,” Amadi told the crowd. “We have to be calculative and continue being ahead of our foes.”
Amadi criticized the current legislative representation of the constituency, pledging to prioritize healthcare, education, agriculture, and youth development if elected.
”In the area of health in particular, our people cannot access adequate medicare and representatives of the constituency have failed to address such,” he said, adding that he plans to secure federal resources for the constituency.
During the gathering, traditional leaders—known locally as the Nde Oha—performed traditional rituals and offered blessings for Amadi’s campaign.
Hon. Maxwell Nlemadim, president of the Emekuku Ancient Town Youth Organisation and convener of the event, urged residents to support Amadi, pointing to the candidate’s local roots in neighboring Obibiezena.
Nigeria is scheduled to hold its next general elections in 2027, where voters will elect members of the National Assembly alongside the president and state governors.
