The ADC Youth Vanguard has expressed strong condemnation and bitterness over the recent wave of insecurity in Nigeria, particularly the abduction of 25 schoolgirls from Government Girls Comprehensive Secondary School in Maga, Kebbi State.

The group also lamented the killing of a top military officer by terrorists and the attack on worshippers and desecration of a church in Kwara State.

In a statement signed by National Coordinator Yusuf Shehu-Tijani, the ADC Youth Vanguard described these incidents as a “shameful slap on the entire nation” and a stark reminder of the insecurity and defenselessness faced by the girl child in pursuit of education.

The statement read: “These incidents have left many families shattered, while communities remain in distress. We strongly condemn these heinous criminalities and demand immediate action from the government to ensure the safe return of the innocent girls.”

The group called for improved security measures, particularly in schools, and a comprehensive approach to address the root causes of banditry and terrorism.

“We cannot continue to lose our citizens. Further delay for drastic action will not mean well for the country,” Shehu-Tijani warned.
