
The president of Aeronautical Information Management Association of Nigeria (AIMAN) Dr Ibrahim Audu says, participating at the International Federation of Aeronautical Information Management Association (IFAIMA), will help accelerate Nigeria’s transition from Aeronautical Information Service (AIS) to Aeronautical Information Management (AIM)
Dr Audu, who attended the just concluded World conference in Aruba with his colleagues from Nigeria, said the conference with the theme ‘AIS to AIM: What Is Holding Us Back and How We Move Forward, added that it will boost the international technical knowledge for Nigerian professionals.
According to him It will also improve international partnership with professionals establishing relationship with ICAO and other related stakeholders in order to learn about current happenings in the industry.
The AIMAN boss noted that the benefits of their participation can not be over emphasised as it will improve the aviation safety of Nigeria stressing that AIM reduces the risk of pilots, air traffic controllers, and other aviation users working with outdated rated information.
”The IFAIMA Global AIM we are talking about is much more than a professional meeting. It has potential benefits for Nigeria, African countries, and the wider international aviation community”
On while it remained difficult to complete embrace AIM like other countries, Dr Audu remarked that everything depended on the ability to make decision adding that making decision will set aims and objectives leading to commitment towards achieving such aims and objectives.
Dr Audu appreciated the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr Festus Keyamo and the management of Nigerian Airspace Management Agency and Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, Engineer Farouk Umar and Capt Chris Najomo respectively, for making it a reality for Nigeria to attend very crucial conference.
According to him, “This will add value to the technical expertise in the AIM industry, which will definitely increase safety and reduces any risks in the aviation industry”
