
A Nigerian scientist, Dr Nwoke Uwaoma, has been selected for the prestigious International Excellence Award at the Ninth World Meet 2026 in Bangkok.
Shahid Mahmood, General Secretary, Ninth World Meet, disclosed this in a letter to Uwaoma.
A copy of the letter was made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos on Thursday.
Mahmood said the award would be presented to Uwaoma on Oct. 31 during the international gathering in Bangkok.
He said Uwaoma was selected in recognition of his outstanding achievements, exceptional leadership, dedicated service and significant contributions to society.
According to him, Uwaoma’s commitment to excellence and positive impacts earned him the international recognition.
“The award presentation ceremony will take place in the presence of distinguished guests, international delegates, government officials, members of royal families and eminent personalities,” he said.
According to Mahmood the event promotes peace, humanity, leadership and global friendship.
NAN reports that Uwaoma is a scholar, global educator and peace ambassador.
He is the regional representative for NEQA-UK (National Education and Quality Assurance Accreditation, United Kingdom) in Nigeria.
His research in fluidic and thermal sciences contributed to an indigenous liquefaction model for natural gas.
