Awka, May 30, 2024. The Commissioner of Police (CP), Anambra State Police Command, Mr Nnaghe Itam, has commended the people of Anambra for sustaining his message of peace by standing up against the illegal sit-at-home order by criminal elements.

The commendation is contained in a press release issued in Awka on Thursday by SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the
Police Public Relations Officer in the state.

According to Ikenga, the CP also praised residents over their decision to stand against other acts threatening national unity and public peace.

The CP noted that Anambra is blessed with vibrant, energetic, and enterprising people, full of potentials, saying “this can only be fully realised in a peaceful and secure environment.”

He stated that he personally led police security patrol to some identified areas in the State to assess the security deployment and monitor compliance to the Operational order.

He also visited schools where the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) was ongoing and was pleased with the on-the-spot assessment of the security arrangement.

The CP charged police personnel deployed for this assignment to be resolute, firm, and professional in the discharge of their duties.

Itam urged the people to continue to assist the Police and other security agencies with information as police synergise and collaborate towards combating all forms of criminality as well as maintaining public order and safety in the State.
