Carlo Ancelotti believes Kylian Mbappe has the potential to match Cristiano Ronaldo’s legendary achievements at Real Madrid. He said, “Ronaldo set a high standard with 451 goals, but Mbappe has the talent to match those numbers.”
Ancelotti emphasized that Real Madrid’s success is based on teamwork, not individual brilliance, despite Mbappe’s expected hat-trick. He stated, “Our strength is in our collective effort.”
Mbappe, who scored 256 goals for PSG, downplayed personal accolades, saying, “Winning trophies is my priority.
I was the Champions League top scorer last season, but didn’t win the title, which shows team success is most important.” He added, “I want to score goals, but only if they help us win major titles.”
Ancelotti admitted Real Madrid’s earlier struggles made the knockout round tougher, but now, the focus is on momentum.
Mbappe expressed a preference for facing Atletico Madrid due to less travel, though both teams will be a challenge. Real Madrid will learn their next opponent in Friday’s draw, aiming for a 16th Champions League title.
