Arik Air, Nigeria’s leading airline, has been honoured with one of the world’s most prestigious business accolades, THE BIZZ Award 2024, in the Inspirational Company category.

This award underscores the airline’s commitment to excellence and innovation within the aviation industry.

Further enhancing its reputation, Arik Air has been inducted as a Platinum Member of the World Confederation of Businesses (WORLDCOB), a recognition that brings with it significant privileges and responsibilities.

This honour was conferred upon the airline following a rigorous evaluation by WORLDCOB’s Evaluation Committee.

The awards ceremony took place on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at the Sofitel Singapore Sentosa Resort and Spa, where industry leaders from around the globe gathered.

During the event, Arik Air was presented with THE BIZZ 2024 trophy, a symbol of business excellence.

Additionally, the airline received the World Business Leader award, acknowledging its leadership in operating with innovation, knowledge, and systematic efficiency.

Arik Air’s Chief Executive Officer, Captain Roy Ilegbodu, and Chief Operating Officer, Captain Adetokunbo Adekunbi, were both recognized for their Excellence in Business Leadership, affirming their roles in steering the airline towards continued success.

Captain Adekunbi, accompanied by Arik Air’s Head of Corporate Communications, Adebanji Ola, accepted the awards from Mr. Michael Bellido, Vice President of WORLDCOB.

In his acceptance speech, Captain Adekunbi dedicated the award to the entire Arik Air team, praising their unwavering dedication and commitment to excellence. He also extended his gratitude to WORLDCOB’s Board of Directors for the esteemed recognition.

Reflecting on the achievement, Captain Ilegbodu remarked, “This award is a testament to the resilience and hard work of our staff, who consistently strive to uphold the highest standards of excellence. We are also deeply grateful to our loyal customers for their continued support over the years.”

WORLDCOB, an international organization established in Houston, Texas, represents over 3,500 businesses across more than 130 countries. Since its founding in 2004, it has been dedicated to promoting business excellence globally.
