Politics, they say, is a game of numbers. So before we move forward to the 2027 election, we must look back at 2019 and 2023 elections so we can avoid the mistakes that will make us lose the coming election.
🔸 During the 2019 election, Atiku and Obi ran together as candidate and running mate against the incumbent president, late President Buhari. They pulled 11,262,978 votes against Buhari’s 15,191,847 votes.
Bear in mind that both Buhari and Atiku are from the North, and we can agree that northern votes were divided between these two major political figures from the north.
Atiku and Obi of the PDP lost the election to Buhari by 3,928,869 votes, about a four-million vote gap.
🔸 Moving from 2019 to 2023.
Peter Obi and Atiku ran separately against the ruling APC in 2023.
Atiku Abubakar of the PDP pulled 6,984,520 votes, taking second position and winning the majority of northern states.
Peter Obi of the Labour Party surprised Nigerians and scored 6,101,533 votes, taking third position and winning strategic states including Lagos
Tinubu of the APC won the election with 8 million votes against ATIKU and OBI 6 million votes each….
🔸 ATIKU AND OBI contesting separately cost us the election in 2023 and that’s how we found ourselves in the present situation where many Nigerians are dying, suffering and the economy and welfare of the people are nothing to write home about.
🔸 Now Nigerians have another chance to seize power, and it is time we play politics without sentiments so we do not deny ourselves this opportunity again.
We currently have Atiku, Obi, and Kwankwaso as the three major political forces going into this election under the ADC, which makes the party a serious threat to the APC.
Our best ticket to win this election is an Atiku and Obi ticket, which represents over 12 million votes,( from the last election) compared to Tinubu’s 8 million votes.
Obi and Kwankwaso will not win us the election.( that’s 7 million votes together )
Atiku with any other running mate aside from Peter Obi will not win us the election.
Kwankwaso with any other running mate will also not win us the election.
ATIKU without Obi is minus 6 million votes, PETER OBI without ATIKU is also minus 6 million votes ( read it again )
🔸 The ball is in ATIKU and PETER OBI’S court
I am a lover and supporter of Peter Obi, but the 2027 election should not be about Peter Obi alone. I am of the opinion that PETER OBI should lower his presidential ambitions a little and take the better path, which is running with Atiku so we can win this 2027 election.
