Bende LGA Ohanaeze  Ndi Igbo Chapter inaugurated

The 20-member executive of Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo, Bende LGA Chapter of Abia State, has been inaugurated with a charge to the new executive to promote Igbo cultural values.

 Dr. C. C. Okwuonu, the President, Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo, Abia State, who spoke at the ceremony held at Bende, the local government headquarters, emphasized that the members must be true ambassadors of the Igbo nation.

He said that their actions and deed must align with the core values of the Igbo apex socio-cultural organization, which he identified as unity, integrity, progress, and mutual respect.

He stressed that Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo is not a political organization, but a cultural institution “dedicated to the advancement and protection of Igbo interests, heritage, and identity.’’

The Chairman of the occasion. Dr. Ibekwe Nnamdi Chimdi-OziomaChi, the  member representing Bende North State Constituency in the Abia State House of Assembly, commended the members of the new executive for accepting the call to serve.

He urged them to justify the confidence reposed in them by living up to expectation and working harmoniously with relevant stakeholders to move Bende forward.

The Chief Host and Mayor of Bende LGA, Deacon Bassey Uwabunkeonye, expressed delight at the peaceful and successful inauguration. He assured the executive of his administration’s unwavering support in promoting the ideals of Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo within the local government.

According to him, the unity and cooperation of Igbo sons and daughters remain vital to the peace and progress of Bende and Abia State at large.

 Elder Peter Agwu Okorie, Chairman of the newly inaugurated executive, pledged to run an inclusive, transparent, and people-oriented administration.

 Okorie assured of commitment to pursue the core mandate of the apex Igbo socio-cultural organization.

Members of the executive include: Mr Chukwuma  Egwuonwu, Deputy Chairman; Chief Daniel Ogbonnaya Okeudo, 1st Vice-Chairman;  Mr. Sunday Orji, 2nd Vice-Chairman.

Others are-Mr  Obinna Ezeka Iheukwumere, Secretary; Mr  Onuegbu Abel. Onuegbu, Assistant Secretary,
 Dr. Uko Oko Igbokwe, Financial Secretary;

Mr. Chinedu Xtova Ngaranwere, Publicity Secretary; Dr. Onwuka Okorie, Assistant Publicity Secretary, among others.
