Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for strengthening APC coordination and boosting unity in Abia State.

Kalu Commends Tinubu Directive

Meanwhile, Kalu spoke after a recent engagement with the President. He thanked Tinubu for directing governors to lead party structures in APC-controlled states.

Furthermore, he said senior-ranking political office holders should manage party affairs in states like Abia. According to him, the system has created a clear chain of command.

Consequently, Kalu said the framework has reduced internal conflicts and improved party cohesion at different levels.

Model Used During Congresses

However, Kalu said the leadership model already guided ward, local government and state congresses. He added that the approach ensured smoother coordination and reduced disputes among stakeholders.

“Thank you to the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” Kalu stated, while praising the arrangement.

Furthermore, he said the result is a more united and organised APC structure in Abia.

APC Eyes Future Elections

Meanwhile, Kalu said the renewed unity will bring strong electoral gains. He added that APC members in Abia remain committed to mobilising support for Tinubu and other party candidates.

In response, political observers said the move forms part of wider APC efforts to grow influence in states where the party seeks expansion, especially in the South-East.

Consequently, party leaders believe stronger internal alignment will improve APC chances in Abia’s political space.
