
The House of Representatives has approved President Bola Tinubu’s request to borrow $516,333,007 to fund sections of the Sokoto–Badagry Super Highway.
Meanwhile, lawmakers approved the request during plenary on Tuesday in Abuja. The decision followed the presentation of a report by Abdullahi Rasheed, deputy chairman of the House Committee on Aids, Loans, and Debts Management.
Furthermore, the approval clears the way for syndicated financing from Deutsche Bank AG.
Highway Project Gets Fresh Backing
Consequently, the funds will support construction work on parts of the Sokoto–Badagry Super Highway. The road project remains one of the key infrastructure plans of the Tinubu administration.
However, officials have yet to release further details on disbursement timelines and project phases.
