The Catholic Archdiocese of Lagos has awarded Pa Augustine Osuizigbo the St. Thomas More Medal of Honour in recognition of his dedicated service to the Church.
While presenting the award to Osuizigbo, the Catholic Archbishop of Lagos, Most Rev. Alfred Adewale Martins, stated: “This honour is in recognition of your outstanding contributions and dedicated service to the growth of the Archdiocese of Lagos.”
“I congratulate you and other awardees for the many ways you have continued to offer selfless services to your parishes and the archdiocese. May God continue to bless you.”
After receiving the award, Pa Osuizigbo expressed that he felt even more inspired to continue serving with greater dedication and faith.
“I am happy and deeply humbled to receive this award of recognition from the Catholic Archdiocese.
“I accept it with a grateful heart, fully aware that any good I may have done is by the grace of God and through the strength He provides.
“This recognition is not mine alone; it belongs to everyone who has prayed for me and to all the parishioners who generously offer their time and talents in service to our Church, especially my parish, SS Timothy and Titus Catholic Church, Isheri-Osun.
“I am grateful to my family and fellow parishioners for their unwavering support and encouragement.
“I especially appreciate our parish priest, Rev. Fr. Christopher Agboola, for nominating me for this award.
“To the Archdiocese, I express my deepest appreciation for this acknowledgment,” he said.

He prayed that all Christians may continue to be instruments of God’s love and peace in the world.
A total of 135 parishioners were honored in the second edition of the St. Thomas More Awards.
The ‘St. Thomas More Medal of Honour’ widely recognised in academic and professional circles, is named after Sir Thomas More—the esteemed English humanist, statesman and Catholic saint.
The medal is awarded to individuals who exemplify More’s core virtues, including integrity, intellectual curiosity and a steadfast commitment to faith and justice, particularly in areas such as law, politics and the humanities.
