Community hails connection to national grid by APGA House of Reps

Residents of Ndiagu–Agba community in Umuogudu Akpu Ngbo, Ohaukwu Local Government Area (LGA) Ebonyi have expressed excitement over the commencement of a rural electrification project aimed at connecting the community to the national grid.

The project is being facilitated by Chief Tochukwu Ogalagu, popularly known as (T-Man) the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Candidate for Ebonyi/Ohaukwu Federal Constituency in the 2027 general elections.

The intervention, executed through His Zelunjo Empowerment Foundation, involves the installation of concrete electric poles across more than two kilometres to extend electricity supply to the community.

The respondents opined that the project followed an appeal made to Ogalagu by residents just one week earlier.

The foundation’s delegation to the project site was led by Chief Onyeoma Kelechi-Agbo, the APGA candidate for the Ohaukwu South state constituency seat in the 2027 elections.

Kelechi-Agbo described Ogalagu as a grassroots-oriented leader whose interventions in education, youth empowerment and job creation had positively impacted lives across the federal constituency.

“The electrification project underscores Ogalagu’s commitment to improve living conditions in rural communities.

“This intervention demonstrates Ogalagu’s passion for inclusive development and determination to ensure that rural communities are not left behind,”.

Mr Chinedu Inyima, a Pastor commended Ogalagu for responding promptly to the needs of the people.

“Access to electricity will boost economic activities, improve security and enhance the quality of life for residents.

“This project will open up our community for development and create opportunities for small businesses to thrive,” .

The Chairman of the village, Mr Christopher Esheya; Chairman of the EDDC Community Committee, Mr Emmanuel Attah; Youth Leader, Comrade Uchechukwu Elom; and Women Leader, Mrs Lovina Odoh, all hailed the initiave.

They described the electrification initiative as one of the most significant interventions undertaken in the community since the creation of Ebonyi .

The respondents in turns, pledged support for Ogalagu’s political ambition ahead of the 2027 elections and urged him to sustain his developmental efforts across the constituency.

Workers were seen installing concrete electric poles expected to extend power supply through adjoining communities.as the project is expected to improve access to electricity.

The project is also expected to stimulate economic growth and accelerate socio-economic development in the benefiting communities.
