Abakaliki, Nigeria – The Minister of Works, David Umahi, has admonished Nigerians that they all serve one God and should not be deceived by those who preach otherwise.

Umahi gave the admonition on Monday in Abakaliki while joining Muslim faithful in the state in breaking their fast, noting that God is “universal”.

The Minister urged Nigerians not to believe those who talk as if they have seen God as the creator is borne inside everyone.

“God is love and when you show love, you are serving God.

“President Bola Tinubu has enjoined leaders to show love during this period which coincides with the Christians’ Easter celebration,.”

He urged the Muslim faithful to pray for the success of President Tinubu’s administration as he came to power in God’s name.

“God has shown his mighty hands on the president and you should pray for the actualisation of all his good intentions.

“You should also pray for his re-election into office and for the success of all those working with him.

“Things are turning out positively for the country as the worst is now over.”

Umahi also urged the Muslim faithful to pray for the success of Gov. Francis Nwifuru’s administration and for his re-election into office.

“You are here because the governor has ensured absolute peace in the state as he has brought everyone under one roof.

“Pray for continued peace in Ebonyi as I and the governor would continue taking care of you as much as we can.”

The Leader of the Muslim community in Ebonyi, Danjuma Gambo, thanked the minister for the gesture and pledged continued, harmonious co-existence with Christians in the state.

“You have sustained this practice even after leaving office as the state governor and this act is sure way of uniting the nation.

Rev. Scamb Nwokolo, Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Ebonyi state, said christians will continue leaving in peace with Muslims in the state.

“I am adorning a Muslim attire at this function indicating the bond which exists between Christians and Muslims in the state.”

Umahi presented cash, I50 bags of rice, tins of groundnut oil, among other edibles, to muslims at the event.
