Dr Abdul joins Nigeria Weightlifting Federation Innovation Commission

Abuja, Nigeria – In a move that highlights Nigeria’s growing influence in global weightlifting, Dr Abdul Ibrahim, the President of the Nigeria Weightlifting Federation, has been appointed as a member of the Innovation Commission of the International Weightlifting Federation (IWF).

The appointment was conveyed in a letter jointly signed by Mohammed Jalood, the President of the IWF, and Anthonio Urso, the IWF’s General Secretary.

In addition to his role as the head of Nigeria’s Nigeria weightlifting Federation (NWF), Dr Ibrahim also serves as the Chairman of the Sports For All Commission of the Nigeria Olympic Committee.

Speaking about his new appointment, Dr Ibrahim expressed his excitement at the opportunity to contribute to the IWF’s innovative initiatives.

“I am honored to have been selected to serve on the IWF’s Innovation Commission,” said Dr Ibrahim.

“This is a testament to Nigeria’s growing prominence in the world of weightlifting, and I look forward to working with my fellow commission members to help shape the future of our sport.”

The IWF’s Innovation Commission is tasked with exploring new ways to enhance the sport of weightlifting, from technological advancements to athlete development programmes.

With Dr Ibrahim’s wealth of experience and leadership in the Nigerian and African weightlifting community, his addition to the commission is expected to provide valuable insights and perspectives that will help drive the sport’s continued growth and evolution.
