
The Executive Secretary of the Ebonyi State Health Insurance Agency (EBSHIA) Dr Divine Igwe has floated foundation aimed at transforming lives and enhancing community welfare.
The Non- Governmental Organisatipn (NGO):: Dr Divine Igwe Impact Foundation aims at empowering indigenes of his home Ezza North Local Government Area of the state, and others across across the state.
The National Coordinator of the foundation, Dt Ibiam Agwu said during its launch at Okposhi-Umuoghara, Ezza North LGA that it would foster socio-economic growth and improve access to essential services to the people.
“We aim at creating a society where every individual, regardless of background, would access quality healthcare, education, and opportunities for personal and professional growth.”
“Impact Foundation is a non-profit, and non-political organisation which will partner donors, volunteers, caregivers, and community members to build a better tomorrow.”
He noted that the foundation has launched several impactful initiatives aimed at educational, healthcare and security enhancement of citizens.
“Our scholarship scheme has offered N200,000 educational grant to 13 students from each ward of the LGA while supporting 18 students in basic education.
“We have scholarship opportunities, for Masters degree programme while offsetting house rents worth over N1million for vulnerable individuals in need of shelter.
“The foundation in partnership with EBSHIA, has enrolled over 5,000 children.and 1,000 pregnant women into the state health insurance scheme with related interventions in free eye surgeries among others.”
The Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the foundation, Dr Divine Igwe said he was motivated to float the foundation due to his desire for an educated, healthy, secured and prosperous society.
“The human enhancing activities of Governor Francis Nwifuru and wife also motivated me as I strive to contribute my quota to societal upliftment.
“My investment in education is borne from the fact that it is the lee way for societal growth, enhancement and economic development.
“I enjoin well-meaning members of the society and private individuals to collaborate with the foundation to secure a brighter future for the citizens.”
The Chairman of the occasion and state Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Chief Oguzor Offia-Nwali commended Igwe for the initiative and pledged his support in sustaining its ideals.
Goodwill messages were delivered on the occasion by dignitaries and partners such as the Chairman of Ezza North LGA, Chief Moses Nome among others.
