Kaduna State’s Governor Uba Sani has been accused by his predecessor, Nasir El-Rufai, of being a sycophant to President Bola Tinubu in exchange for massive federal funding.
The two All Progressives Congress (APC) members have been at odds since Sani took office. El-Rufai has been vocal in his criticism of the APC and Tinubu’s administration, alleging that they promote poor leadership.
In a recent interview, Sani dismissed El-Rufai’s criticism as self-serving. However, El-Rufai responded on social media, revealing that Kaduna State had received over N150 billion in selective federal reimbursements, interventions, and grants from Tinubu’s administration.
El-Rufai implied that this funding was the reason behind Sani’s unwavering loyalty to Tinubu. He also emphasized the importance of effective governance in addressing the basic needs of citizens, quoting former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair.
The public feud between El-Rufai and Sani has sparked tensions in Kaduna politics, with many speculating about the potential consequences for the 2027 elections.
