Gov Mbah, Mark mourn passing of matriarch Josephine Anichukwu

Enugu State Governor, Dr. Peter Mbah, and former President of the Senate, David Mark, have paid tribute to the late Senior Mother-in-Israel Josephine Anichukwu, who passed away on November 2, 2024, at the age of 81.

Anichukwu was the mother of Mazi Uche Anichukwu, media aide to Governor Mbah .

The Anichukwu family has announced funeral ceremonies to honor their matriarch, which will commence with a commendation service at her country home in Obinagu, Amigbo Nomeh, on Friday, February 21.

This will be followed by an all-night wake at the same venue. The Christian funeral service and interment will take place on Saturday, February 22, while a thanksgiving and outing service will be held on Sunday at the Provincial Headquarters of the Eternal Sacred Order of Cherubim and Seraphim in Enugu.

Governor Mbah praised Anichukwu as a consummate teacher, inspiring mother, supportive wife, and community and church leader.

He noted that her teaching career had a lasting impact on many lives. Senator Mark described her as an extraordinary woman, renowned for her strength, kindness, and generosity, whose legacy lives on through the values she instilled in her children .
