Gowon Estate residents receive food palliative from Sanwo-Olu

Some residents of Gowon Estate in the Egbeda area of Lagos State have commended Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for the food palliatives given to them and other state residents.

The ‘’Ounje Eko’’, food for Lagos initiative of the governor was distributed through the Gowon Estate Community Development Association (CDA).

The residents received the food items including beans, rice, and garri in the presence of the CDA executives, as the old, and the elderly were not left out.

Alhaji Dauda Oyebanji, Chairman of the CDA who distributed the items, praised the governor for alleviating the suffering of his people.

Oyebanji also thanked the governor for his various measures to alleviate the suffering of Lagos residents, particularly the vulnerable, including the elderly and retirees.

Also, Mr Adejoro John, Secretary for the CDA, applauded Governor Sanwo-Olu and his team for the laudable programme, stressing that the Ounje Eko initiative is well-timed, well-planned, and executed.

 ‘’One could feel the joy from many of the beneficiaries of this food bank programme of the governor,’’ John said.

‘’This is a great relief to our residents, I must commend the governor, both old and elderly none was left out, we do hope this type of good gesture continues,’’ John said.

He encouraged the state government to improve the packages so that they would be able to get to more residents.

Some beneficiaries thanked Governor Sanwo-Olu for the food items, urging him to make it more regular.

A resident, Pa Osilaja, expressed happiness that he is one of the beneficiaries while appreciating the state governor.  

Pa J. K Lawanson another resident said, ‘’My joy has no bounds, the governor should in the future increase the number of palliatives being sent to the community.
