Group endows N.5m prize for UNIZIK’s best graduating students

Dr Frank Igbojindu, Group Managing Director of Akpoazaa Group, a non-governmental organisation, has endowed a N500,000 prize for the best graduating students at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State.

The N500,000 prize will be distributed across three categories.

Specifically, N250,000 will be awarded to the overall best graduating student, N150,000 to the best graduating student from the Faculty of Management Sciences, and N100,000 to the best graduating student in the Department of Accountancy.

Igbojindu, an alumnus of the university, made the announcement during a visit to the office of the Acting Vice-Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Joseph Ikechebelu.

According to Igbojindu, the gesture is a way to express his appreciation to the university for shaping his character and education.

During the visit, he also announced the donation of a 500-capacity tent for the university’s 2025 convocation ceremony holding on March 28

“This is the institution where I earned my Diploma, B.Sc, M.Sc, and PhD.

“I have many plans in store to support my alma mater, an institution that significantly shaped his life,” he said.

In response, the Acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ikechebelu, commended Igbojindu for his generosity.

He said the university education greatly benefits from alumni support.

He added that the university takes pride in the success of its graduates and encouraged other alumni to consider giving back to the institution.

“UNIZIK is known for grooming people for responsibility. Thank you for having your Alms Mater in mind,” he said.
