The Anambra State Town Union Council (ASTUC), Youth Wing, collaborates with Geoserve Renaissance Academy to promote local content in businesses among youths and women in the rural communities.

The President-General of the youth wing, Mr Ken Okoli, disclosed this on Monday.

This was after securing the venue for the market fair (“Ka Anyi Zuo Ahia”) on the Anambra Broadcasting Service premises in Awka.

“The leadership of ASTUC, youth wing, has secured vendor stand for youths and women doing businesses in rural communities that want to showcase their products and services at the market fair.

“The market fair is coming up on Oct 25 at ABS,” Okoli said.

He promised that ASTUC would utilise the one-day event to promote youth mentoring and capacity building for the participants.

“We will continue to partner with ‘Ka Anyi Zuo Ahia’, even beyond the market fair to promote and help build the businesses of youths and women in our rural communities.

Earlier, the convener Ka Anyi Zuo Ahia, Mr Chinemerem Oguegbe, described the fair as a platform designed to change the narrative of businesses amongst youths and women.

He said this would be done through mentorship and capacity building in local businesses.

Oguegbe encouraged the youths and women to come out to market their products, services and share experiences and network with other business owners from the 21 Local Government Areas of the state.

The programme also aims to provide growth opportunities and help by giving visibility to products and services of participating business owners.
