Nigerian billionaire businessman Alhaji Abdul Samad Isyaka Rabiu, Chairman and Founder of BUA Group, has congratulated the Super Eagles of Nigeria after their impressive 2–0 victory over Algeria in the quarter-final of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), securing a place in the semi-finals of the tournament.

Rabiu took to social media on Saturday, 10 January, to laud the team’s performance, describing the win as a “brilliant victory” that has lifted the spirit and pride of the nation.

In a statement shared via his verified X account, the industrialist celebrated the players’ achievement and pledged substantial financial incentives to spur them on for the rest of the competition.

In his message, Rabiu outlined a tiered reward structure tied to the Super Eagles’ performance in the upcoming knockout matches:

$500,000 (approximately ₦730 million) if the Super Eagles win the semi-final clash.

An extra $50,000 (about ₦73 million) for every goal scored in the semi-final.

If Nigeria goes on to win the AFCON final, Rabiu pledged $1,000,000 (about ₦1.45 billion).

Additionally, he announced $100,000 for every goal scored in the final match.

These promises add up to a potential $1.5 million base reward, not including performance bonuses, as part of what has been described in media reports as one of the most generous incentive packages offered by a private Nigerian benefactor at this stage of AFCON.

The Super Eagles booked their semi-final berth with a composed performance against Algeria, with goals from Victor Osimhen and Akor Adams in Marrakech.

The team now prepares to face host nation Morocco in the AFCON semi-final match, scheduled for Wednesday, 14 January 2026 at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat. As national support grows and fans look forward to another thrilling encounter, Rabiu’s pledge has sparked widespread excitement, shining a spotlight on both the team’s continental campaign and the role of private sector support in Nigerian football.

Rabiu urged the players to “keep making Nigeria proud,” reaffirming his confidence in the squad’s ability to succeed and rallying Nigerians behind the team as they chase continental glory.
