Jigsimur Plus Nigeria Ltd. says it will challenge the ruling of the Patents and Designs Registry, Abuja, concerning ownership of its label bottle design.
The company stated this in a public notice issued through its legal representatives and dated Sept. 4, 2026.
The dispute involves Jigsimur Plus Nigeria Ltd., Jigsimur SA (Pty) Ltd. and Cleansimur International Ltd.
According to the company, the ruling by the Patents and Designs Registry is an administrative decision and does not constitute a final determination of the parties’ rights by a court of competent jurisdiction.
“Jigsimur Plus Nigeria Limited strongly maintains that the decision was reached in error and without proper appreciation and consideration of the relevant facts, documents, rights and circumstances,” it said.
The company said it had instructed its legal counsel to challenge the decision before the Federal High Court and seek appropriate judicial remedies.
It said it was exercising its lawful right within the prescribed period to challenge the ruling and pursue an appeal.
The company also said it would seek appropriate orders to preserve the position of the parties pending determination of the appeal.
It cautioned against presenting the matter publicly as having reached a final and enforceable conclusion, saying the period prescribed by the ruling had not expired.
“Jigsimur Plus Nigeria Limited remains committed to vigorously protecting and enforcing its lawful rights and interests,” the company said.
It urged members of the public, customers, distributors, business partners and other stakeholders to disregard reports suggesting that the dispute had been finally resolved.
The company stressed that the administrative ruling should not be misconstrued as a final judgment of the Federal High Court or any other superior court of record.
It expressed confidence that the relevant facts, evidence and legal issues would be properly considered by the court.
The company further urged the public and media to exercise restraint and avoid disseminating reports suggesting that the matter had been finally and conclusively determined.
It said it remained committed to the rule of law and would pursue the matter through the appropriate judicial channels.
The company said the notice was issued to clarify the situation and protect the interests of Jigsimur Plus Nigeria Ltd., its customers, distributors, business partners and the general public.
