The Maritime Reporters Association of Nigeria (MARAN) has extended its heartfelt congratulations to Dr Kayode Opeifa, the newly appointed Managing Director of the Nigeria Railway Corporation (NRC).

This is contained in a congratulatory letter signed by the MARAN President, Mr Godfrey Bivbere, on Thursday in Lagos.

Bivbere described the appointment as well-deserved, citing the appointee’s exceptional track record in the transportation sector.

“As a highly accomplished transport expert of repute, we are confident that your wealth of experience and academic qualifications will positively impact your new role,” he said.

The association acknowledged the appointee’s previous accomplishments, including serving as Commissioner of Transport, where he demonstrated exceptional leadership, intellectual brilliance, and a strong work ethic.

MARAN expressed confidence in the new Managing Director’s ability to build on his predecessor’s successes and drive the NRC to greater heights.

The association also assured him of its unwavering support in achieving the goals of the Corporation.

The association emphasised MARAN’s readiness to work with the new leadership to advance Nigeria’s rail transport system.

“This appointment comes at a crucial time as stakeholders look forward to innovative strategies and policies to revitalise and expand the nation’s railway infrastructure,” he said.
